RECOVERY AGENT MEMBERS
I. FOUNDATION FOR RECOVERY AND DISPOSAL COMPLIANCE
The International Electronics Recovery Coalition (IERC) implements and develops sustainable and economically viable electronics recovery programs. Our ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 compliant programs respond to newly adopted national e-Steward Standards. They also directly address the ongoing and serious issues of e-waste and its associated byproducts.
II. ASSISTANCE WITH CERTIFICATION
IERC member organizations have many years of experience with QS and ISO requirements. We can assist companies in need of e-Steward or R2 certification. Internal auditing, gap analysis and safety and compliance training programs can be designed around the specific needs of each individual company.
III. ACTIVE CORPORATE SOLICITATION
IERC invites recovery and disposal agents interested in addressing ongoing e-waste issues to become members. These members are provided corporate visibility and opportunities through their association with IERC. Our corporate membership includes a wide array of companies throughout North America.
IV. STANDARD COST RECOVERY PRICING
Standard cost transparency is calculated monthly based on our electronics recycling composite index. The index tracks the changing market prices in the computer recycling and waste electronics recovery industry. The index consists of a weighted basket of multiple benchmark grades of electronic scrap, updated on the first of each month.
V. NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
IERC has invited non-profit, charitable organizations that work within the scope of the electronics industry to become members. Our recovery and disposal agent members have the option to either donate to member charities themselves, or convey that opportunity to their clients. Donors in turn receive appropriate receipts for tax purposes.
VI. PARTICIPATION IN FUTURE LEGISLATION
IERC believes that membership at all levels can help guide current and future federal and state legislation in a positive direction. Our members help unify an industry under a common social and environmental vision. Together, we compliment the e-Steward Standards and its continuing development of solutions to address the growing e-waste problem.
